The SEL SP 71R RAKSA is a selective RF detector designed for near field detection and the locating of covert information access devices that use a wide variety of radio transmitters between 40MHz and 3.8GHz. Working with the indicator does not require special technical ability or training.
The SEL SP 71R RAKSA can detect the following:
• Mobile phones
– GSM 850/900E/ 1800/1900
– UMTS 850/900/1800/1900/2100
– CDMA 450 (A-H)/800/1900 standards
• Сordless DECT telephones
• Bluetooth and Wi Fi devices
• Wireless video cameras
• Radio transmitters with analog modulation (AM, FM, PM)
• Radio transmitters with digital modulation and continuous carrier (FSK, PSK, etc.)
• Radio transmitters with wideband modulation up to 10 MHz bandwidth
RAKSA is a superheterodyne receiver with a low IF and a frequency synthesizer which takes less than 2 seconds to scan and analyze the cycle of any and all digital and analog signals.
The detector has a range of 5 operating modes:
• Guard Mode
This mode is used in cases where the primary signal source has not been activated. Guard mode provides continuous automatic monitoring of any detectable analog and digital radio signals coming in and sets an alarm for the detection of any suspicious radio signal (A signal exceeding the preset threshold level). All information about the alarm events is recorded in the Alarm Log.
Guard Mode enables background noise deduction for analog signals thus reducing the influence of any regular background noise.
Slow fluctuations of its level are ignored thanks to the device’s adaptation algorithm.
• Sweep Mode
This mode is used for the detection and review of any analog, and all types of digital radio signals regardless of their level.
• Search Mode
This mode is used for the detection and location of analog and digital transmitters by moving the RF Detector. For analog signals both visual and audio indication of the signal strength is available: the higher is the frequency of the flash the closer the transmitter is to the source.
• Difference Search Mode
This mode is used for detection and localization of analog transmitters and is preferable to the Search Mode if the transmitter is located in the same room. In this Mode the device defines the relative level of the signal — its difference from the reference spectrum that was fixed at the beginning of operation in this Mode.
• Monitoring of Digital Signals
This mode is intended for the detection of mobile phone signals (GSM 850/900E/ 1800/1900, UMTS (3G) 850/900/1800/1900/2100, CDMA 450 (A-H)/800/1900), cordless telephones (DECT standard), Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and other impulse signals in 2.4 GHz. Moreover this mode can be used for the adjustment of threshold levels for the Guard Mode.
Alarm Events Log
The Alarm Events Log with sufficient memory for 200 records collects information about any suspicious signals detected in Monitoring Mode. If the detected threat signals are of different types the Log will record all of them. The display shows the moment of detection and the moment of the signal’s extinction, as well as the type and maximum level of the signal.
Audio Monitoring is available only for analog signals in Sweep, Search and Difference Search Modes through the built-in speaker. Audio monitoring facilitates signal identification and allows for the use of acoustic feedback.
The SEL SP 71R RAKSA kit comes with a 220V battery charger. batteries. The detector is powered by a Li-pol battery and can operate up for 12 hours on a single charge. It is also possible simultaneously operate and charge the device.
