The device makes it possible to locate the real area of suppression and verify that the frequency range of jammer correspond to frequency bands of controlled standards.
ST169 measure and evaluate the level of base stations’ and the jammer signals, and visually displays the result it both numerically and in graphically. By comparing the signals and inform the user can evaluate both the quality of the suppression and level of personal security.
The system was developed due to the following reasons:
• It is necessary to find jammer coverage area borders and verify that the frequency range of jammer correspond to frequency bands of local operators.
• Mobile providers can periodically change a location or a quantity of base stations, which leads to a change in a signal strength and (or) a frequency band.
• It is obligate to promptly detect jammer failure.
The cell phones using CDMA 450, GSM, 3G and 4G mobile technology standards are separated in frequency receive and transmit paths. A jammer is an instrument used to prevent cell phones from receiving signals from base stations. To reliably suppress communication between the base station and the mobile device the jamming signal level must exceed the level of the received base station signal by a certain value (“suppression factor”).
So, to estimate the effectiveness of the jammer, it is necessary to measure the signal strength of base stations of all providers in the monitored area as well as the signal strength of the jammer in the all frequency bands which are supposed to be suppressed.
